This introductory DVD opens with Barry sharing how he began traveling as a result of a painful divorce and took off alone “Around the World to Find Happiness”. His hilarious yacht cruise in the South Pacific, his many mishaps and adventures are revealed, climaxing in Hawaii, when he meets Corinne on a tour bus. They discover a common thrill of travel & photography which leads to their marriage and life in San Diego, from where they have traveled extensively. Their amusing & heart warming presentation will include the many countries they have visited, loved, photographed & even worked in. Their story might even get you traveling “around the world” to find your personal happiness!
A family emergency sends Barry & Corinne flying off to Southern Spain to help his sister cope with her English riding school. Their 3 months of family assistance results in plenty of hard work but also lots of fun & laughter, plus the opportunity to explore Spain’s over developed Costa del Sol, including the moorish ancient capital of Granada and Seveille, famous for its marmalade & Christopher Columbus.
Europe East to West
Having spent a month on a guided group tour of Turkey, Barry & Corinne decide to travel on their own across Europe, using public transportation. Their destination is Southern Spain to visit Barry’s sister, Jane. During this 2,600 mile journey, our world travelers recap on Jane’s remarkable life from party caterer in Dubai, to running an English horse riding school in Spain, to opening an English interior furnishing business in Gibraltar.
England, Wales, and Ireland
Barry took Corinne back to his homeland & booked a 3 week guided tour with Cosmos. Part 1 – England & Wales: The couple meet friends & sightsee in London before taking off to visit King Henry VIII’s magnificent Hampton Court palace, the ancient stone monument of Stonehenge, 13th century Salisbury Cathedral & Plymouth, port of departure for the Mayflower in 1620. They take a misty drive to Widecombe in the Moor, across Dartmoor National Park to King Arthur’s Glastonbury, the royal spa city of Bath & over the Severn Bridge into Wales. They spend an afternoon at St. Fagans National History Museum & overnight in Cardiff, the Welsh capital.
England and Scotland
England & Scotland: Barry & Corinne follow the north Wales coast to Chester, with its black & white Tudor architecture, & then on to Liverpool, home of the Beatles. Heading north to the lovely Lake District, the couple visit Grasmere, home of William Wordsworth. They cross the border into Scotland at Gretna Green & travel on to Glasgow, Scotland’s largest city. They enter the highlands, stopping at Loch Lomond & Loch Ness, (home of the legendary monster), Inverness, Pitlochry, St. Andrews, (famous for golf), before arriving in Edinburgh, the Scottish capital.
Sardinia, situated off Italy’s west coast, is the 2nd largest island in the Mediterranean, after Sicily. However, Sardinia is largely unknown, compared to many other islands in the area. Here’s your chance to join Barry & Corinne, as they land at Cagliari in the south, to explore this surprisingly delightful capital city. Tour a Roman amphitheatre built to seat 10,000.
A short flight from the relative obscurity of Sardinia brings us to Sicily, (a.k.a. mafia land), the largest island in the Mediterranean, with a resident population of 5 million. Palermo, the island’s gritty & overcrowded capital, served as the base for city tours & self guided tours to Monreale Cathedral, a spectacular 12th Century Norman monument, and Cefalu, a charming seaside resort. Next, we head south for Agrigento, to explore the highly acclaimed Valley of the Temples.
Russia Part 1
Barry & Corinne join Nadia, (who saved Barry’s life in India), and a group of her close friends, to visit her ancestral home, no longer Communist. Share their excitement as they travel from San Diego to meet Nadia & her friends in New York, then an Aeroflot flight to Moscow. They transit to Kiev, capital of the Ukraine, and finally, St. Petersburg, the dazzling Czarist’s capital, where they visit the summer palaces & the Hermitage.
Russia Part 2
Barry & Corinne continue their journey with Nadia from St. Petersburg, by overnight train to Riga, capital of Latvia, and visit the Baltic Sea resort area. Our Russian Aeroflot aircraft takes us to Moscow, heart of the “evil empire”. We visit the historic Kremlin, GUM, (Russia’s largest departmental store), massive Red Square and open air street markets. This incredible journey ends at Zagorsk, the religious sanctuary, and closes with a breathtaking performance of Russia’s first private folk group. PHEW!!!

Mexico & The Caribbean
Mexico’s Copper Canyon
Join Barry & Corinne and a San Diego travel group, as they depart from Mexicali, on a week long adventure by train through this largely unexplored region of Mexico’s Sierra Madre Mountains. In addition to sleeping on the train, the group overnights at hotels in Divisadero and Creel. With Mexico on their doorstep, Barry & Corinne couldn’t wait to dust off their 1973 vintage VW camper van and head south. Klondike Part 1
In 1998, Dawson City planned a week long celebration to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Klondike Gold Rush. Barry & Corinne were determined to attend this event & decided to capture the spirit of the Gold Rush of 1897/8, by following the same route as the Californian prospectors. Instead of a lumbering slow stagecoach, they drove their 1973 VW camper van up the West Coast. With mechanical delays, Barry & Corinne spent a week exploring beautiful Vancouver Island, before boarding the Alaska Ferry at Bellingham.
Klondike Part 2
Barry & Corinne visit Dyea, start of the Chilkoot Trail, and then board the famous White Pass & Yukon Route Railway, alongside Dead Horse Trail, on a special excursion to Lake Bennett. Then, their 1973 VW camper van just made it over the mountain to reach Dawson City, in the Yukon, for the Centennial Celebrations of the Klondike Gold Rush. Despite breakdowns, on their return trip, Barry & Corinne make it over the Rockies to Lake Louise, Banff & Calgary, before heading south through Yellowstone National Park, Flaming Gorge, Bryce Canyon & Laughlin, to finally arrive back in San Diego.

Argentina Part 1
What’s on your “bucket list”? Join Barry & Corinne as they fulfill Barry’s life long wish to fly to Buenos Aires to take tango lessons & then travel to the bottom of the world, Tierra del Fuego, (which is on Part Two). Check out their self catering apartment in San Telmo, ideally located for tango lessons, friendly cafes, historic Plaza Dorrego & close to downtown. Explore Buenos Aires by tour bus & discover La Boca, birthplace of the tango. A crazy bus ride takes Barry & Corinne to a Sunday gaucho fair in Mataderos, with BBQ beef, traditional crafts & folk dancing. A second bus tour allows a visit to Eva Perron’s tomb & a return visit to La Boca.
Argentina Part 2
Having fulfilled Barry’s “bucket list” wish in Part One, to take tango lessons in Buenos Aires, our world travelers cross the Andes in the snow to explore South America’s Lake District. Barry & Corinne journey south into Chile, stopping at Puerto Montt, Punta Arenas & Puerto Natales, to visit Torres del Paine. The couple journey back into Argentina & use El Calafate as their base, to explore the Perito Moreno Glacier & hike the Fitzroy Mountains around El Chalten, ending in an alarming way. Finally, our intrepid pair make it down to Ushuaia, the southern most city in the world. They cruise the Beagle Channel to view wildlife, take the Convicts Train, tour Tierra del Fuego & visit the infamous penitentiary.
South America Part 1
Barry & Corinne cover 3,200 miles on their land journey from coast to coast in South America which are featured in 4 episodes. This DVD (Part One) covers Episode 1 – Chile and Episode 2 – Argentina & Paraguay. Episode One begins in Santiago, Chile’s bustling capital, set against the snow capped Andes. Episode Two on this DVD takes you across the mighty Andes to Argentina to visit the beautiful colonial city of Salta, founded by the Spanish in 1582.
South America Part 2
You’re sharing Barry & Corinne’s 3,200 mile road trip across South America, as part of a small group of adventurous British travelers. Episode 3 opens with a visit to a mate (tea) plantation & factory, having just left Patagonia. The highlight though is Iguacu Falls, a world heritage site, with its spell binding waterfalls and awesome Devil’s Throat. In Episode 4, Barry & Corinne reach the Atlantic coast to relax at Parati, an old Portuguese fishing village. They’re now in Brazil, the 2nd most populated country in America, population 120 million, where Portuguese is spoken.
Ecuador & Galapagos Islands
Barry & Corinne landed in Quito, the capital,and first Spanish port settlement. After a city tour, they fly south to Cuenca, high up in the Andes & a charming colonial city. Corinne and the other ladies quickly discover the shopping opportunities. Visits are made to Santa Catalina, the 16th century convent, a mission museum & dazzling colonial churches. Their travels continue on a hilarious bus tour in remote mountain villages, where they watch panama hats being woven, Inca ruins, a colorful Indian market and then, the bus breaks down, leading to an impromptu party. One of their all time great travel memories!
Welcome to the lungs of our planet, the Amazon rain forest, the largest & last tropical rain forest remaining. Join Barry & Corinne as they explore the beautiful & dangerous Amazon by river boat from Leticia in Columbia to Iquitos in Peru. This river boat cruise is just one of their four jungle adventures, beginning at Explorer’s Inn, Tambopata Wildlife Reserve, close to Peru’s southern border with Bolivia. Then, the couple visit Amazon Camp, near the haunting old rubber capital of Iquitos & finally, a one on one jungle experience at the remote Tambo Yarapa camp near Ecuador. All this to help us learn why saving the Amazon Rain Forest will save life on our planet.
Join Barry & Corinne as they travel from Lima, the capital, to Cusco, where they go white water rafting through the Sacred Valley of the Incas and then take the narrow gauge train to explore Machu Picchu – the Lost City of the Incas. For more adventure, they fly to Arequipa in Southern Peru to discover the world’s deepest canyon – Colca Canyon – where the mighty condors soar. A small boat transports them to the floating reed islands on Lake Titicaca, the world’s highest navigable lake.
Israel Part 1
Barry & Corinne arrive at Tel Aviv, where they enjoy a few days in the local neighborhood & along the beach. They then join their tour group & head north along the Mediterranean Sea to Caesarea & Haifa, visiting inland villages along the way. They journey inland to Nazareth & overnight at Tiberius, on the Sea of Galilee. The group takes a boat ride to Capernaum & then, Tabgha, site of Jesus’ Fishes & Loaves Miracle. In the Golan Heights, they lunch at a kibbutz, take a winery tour & then visit the battlefront with Syria.
Israel Part 2
In Jerusalem, Barry & Corinne descend from the Mount of Olives to the Old City & visit the Wailing Wall and the Christian Quarter, with Via Dolorosa & the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. The couple shop in the confined alleyways of the Old City. They view the Dead Sea Scrolls, Israel’s memorial to the Holocaust, Mount Herzl Cemetery, David’s Citadel & attend a kibbutz banquet. They also take a side trip to Bethlehem & visit the Church of the Nativity. Driving south over the Negev Desert, the group stops at Ben Gurion’s final home & grave, before arriving at the southern seaside resort of Eilat, at the head of the Gulf of Aqaba.
Barry & Corinne jumped at the opportunity to shoot an African safari (with cameras, not guns). Share their excitement, surrounded by untamed animals in Africa’s famous game parks & reserves – Meru, Aberdare, Lake Nakuru, Lake Baringo, Masai Mara & the Loita Hills. Sometimes when you travel, just like at home, things don’t work out like you expect. Corinne fulfilled her life long dream of going to Egypt. For Barry, it turned into a nightmare. He lost his eye sight & needed an emergency operation in Cairo. Barry was diagnosed with a torn & detached retina that required an immediate emergency operation. During his two week recovery, Corinne took the opportunity to visit the Pyramids, Sphinx, Egyptian Museum, old Islamic Cairo & other world famous sites.
India Far North
From the bustle of Delhi, India’s capital, Barry & Corinne travel to Varanasi, a sacred city to the Hindus & experience sunrise on the River Ganges. They tour the erotic temples of Khajuraho before taking a toy train up into the foothills of the Himalayan range of Mountains. Enjoy Shimla, built by the British to escape the summer heat of Delhi & then take a hilarious ride with the couple to the Kulu Valley.
India Far South
After a hectic visit to Indian’s mountainous Far North, Barry & Corinne fly south to relax on the lush, tropical coast of Kerala. They unwind at Kovalam Beach and travel by rickshaw to Trivandrum, Kerala’s capital. Join them for a leisurely cruise of the ancient seaport of Cochin, where they visit the 16th century Dutch Palace, Chinese fishing nets and the oldest Christian church in India. Enjoy an electrifying Kathakali dance show and soak up the sun on some of India’s finest beaches. Finally, Corinne discovers the best shopping in Bombay, the film capital of India.
India’s Palace on Wheels
The Palace on Wheels train ride is a 1,600 mile journey into a world of opulence, antiquity & nostalgia, from Delhi, India’s capital, across Rajasthan and returning to Delhi a week later. You will enjoy the appeal of a by-gone age of steam travel, impeccable service, transported in a Maharajah’s antique parlor car, incorporating sleeping compartments, lounge/dining saloon & kitchen. Our Palace on Wheels gently rocks us to sleep and we awaken to be greeted like royalty at Jaipur, the pink city, the 6th century Amber Fort, Chittorgarh, the deserted ghost city, Udaipur, with its massive City Palace & dreamlike Lake Palace.
Southern India and Goa
Our week long Palace on Wheels train ride whetted our appetite to see more of India. So from the northwest state of Rajasthan, we flew southeast to Madras, famous for curry and the 2nd longest beach in the world. We arrived in time to attend one of the many Hindu festivals, an amazing outpouring of religious fervor, then a scenic coastal drive to view the ancient sandstone carvings at Mahalibalipuram. Next, a flight via Bangalore to the royal city of Mysore, home of the largest Maharajah’s palace in India. We actually managed to stay at the royal guest house, now a hotel, and were treated like royalty.
Buckle up for plenty of adventure, as Barry shares with Corinne the Pacific paradise of Fiji, which he first encountered on his Around the World escapade. Join your favorite world traveling couple as they explore the main islands of Viti Levu,Vanua Levu & Taveuni, the garden island. You will gain insights into the Fijian & Indian cultures that have co-existed since sugar cane was introduced by the British. Corinne discovers the islanders’ unique hand made crafts, as they visit local markets & sightsee in Nadi & Suva.
You’ve joined us for a South Seas adventure to the Royal Kingdom of Tonga. This is one of our many travel escapades which we filmed, edited & narrated to share with you. Our home movie opens with us aboard the 55 ft. yacht, Koloa, to explore the many islands, including the first filmed underwater dive of Mariner’s Cave. We also squeeze Koloa’s dinghy into Swallow’s Cave and take you underwater diving in their crystal clear waters to view their coral gardens.
Barry & Corinne tour the WWII battlefields of Guadalcanal, where America’s battle of the Pacific began. From Honiara, the couple island hop by small plane & boat, visiting small resorts, remote islands & diving on submerged war relics. From Gizo, they take a leisurely river boat back to Honiara. Their final adventure is to fly to Malaita, where they stay in a remote village & experience the primitive life style of the friendly residents.
Twenty-five years ago, Barry took off alone to go around the world, discovered a whole new way of life and met Corinne. Now, it looked like his traveling days were over. He had been diagnosed with serious cancer, resulting in the removal of his bladder. To help him recover, Corinne booked a surprise trip Down Under to thank their many friends who had been so supportive. This “Celebration of Life” is covered in two parts. Kiwis, as New Zealanders like to be called, believe that they live in God’s Own Country. It’s 2/3 the size of California but with only 4 million people and comprises two main islands. What that doesn’t tell you is that when a Kiwi takes to you, they mean it! As Barry & Corinne had visited N.Z. on several previous occasions, they had made many friends, who helped pull him through cancer with their prayers & e-mails. This was Corinne’s idea to visit & thank them in person for their care & concern. This “Celebration to Life” is covered in two parts. This DVD (Part Two) covers episodes 3 & 4 in New Zealand.

China Part 1

On to Xi’an, ancient capital of China, where they see the incredible underground army of 6,000 Terra Cotta Warriors – the archeological discovery of the last century.
China Part 2
Join Barry & Corinne as they take a cruise down the mighty Yangtse River, before the three gorges are flooded, to create electricity to fuel China’s leap into the future. They visit a silk factory, compete in a hilarious Dragon Boat race and enjoy spectacular scenery. Then, on to ancient Guilin for a picturesque cruise down the Li River. Finally, from Canton, they take a Fast Cat Jet Boat to bustling Hong Kong, one of the world’s most exciting cities, a shopper’s paradise!
“You’ll never know unless you go!” This is so true of Vietnam. Almost everybody has heard of this country but aside from the military, few Americans have visited this amazing country. So one Christmas, when Barry & Corinne had the opportunity to join a small group, they couldn’t resist the pull of experiencing this once war torn country, as it is emerging and becoming an exciting tourist destination.
After an emotional trip to Japan to meet Corinne’s relatives, Barry & Corinne fly on to Malaysia unaware of the haze covering most of the peninsula. The couple is determined to carry on & explore this predominantly Muslim country. After a quick tour of Kuala Lumpur, the modern capital, the independent travelers journey by train north to the island of Penang & the colonial jewel of Georgetown.
Having escaped the haze covering most of Malaysia, Barry & Corinne fly to the Philippines, looking for sunshine & clear blue skies & hoping to relax on sandy beaches. Instead, they are offered the opportunity to join a press group, heading to a remote area in Northern Luzon, to cover the Ifugao rice terraces at harvest time. This is a rare opportunity to visit isolated villages & celebrate their rice harvest festival.
What would you do if the American dream turned into the American nightmare? As a result of a California divorce, Barry was motivated to take risks & change his life. He was free to travel, experience this beautiful world & in time, find ways to share it with others. Relying on his own home movie footage at the opening of this DVD, Barry briefly shares bits of his epic journey through India, China & Thailand, to discover the fantasy island of the Far East.
Barry & Corinne had so much fun in Thailand that this DVD ran overtime! After a quick glimpse of Barry’s early film footage of his first visit to Thailand, our world travelers set out to see even more of this exotic country. From Bangkok, they join a small group & head north by train to Chiang Mai, where they take a 4 day 21 mile hike, staying in Hill Tribe villages & even enlisting the help of elephants to navigate swamps & rivers.
